English Theatre Berlin | International Performing Arts Center has presented literary readings by English-language authors from around the globe for the last two decades.

Our flagship U.S. EMBASSY LITERATURE SERIES presents contemporary authors from the United States in collaboration with the US Embassy.

We also regularly present a series of international crime fiction in collaboration with Hammett, a local bookstore specializing in crime fiction.

Numerous German publishing companies including Suhrkamp, dtv, Aufbau, Hoffmann & Campe, Liebeskind and Klett Cotta have brought their international writers to our stage.

Recent highlights include literary readings by Yaa Gyasi, Rebecca Rukeyser, Candice Fox, Nickolas Butler, Holly-Jane Rahlens, Ariel Levy, Tom Franklin, Beth Ann Fennelly, Paul La Farge, Molly Antopol, Tom Drury, Zoë Beck, Tom Leveen, Joshua Cohen, Karin Slaughter, Jonathan Lethem, Joshua Hammer, Anthony Marra, Thomas Chatterton Williams, Ruth Ozeki, Justin Go, Amy Bloom, Michael Lederer, Kiran Desai, Ben Marcus, Jennine Capó Crucet, Dinah Nayeri, Donald Ray Pollock, Brittani Sonnenberg, David Guterson, Don Winslow, Adam Johnson, Roger Smith, Edward Kelsey Moore, Joe R. Lansdale, Jennifer DuBois, Robert Wilson, Alexander Chee, Andrew Sean Greer, Matthew Sweeney, John Hartley Williams, Daniel Woodrell, Karen Russell, Fiona Maazel, Jaimy Gordon, Porochista Khakpour, David Vann, Giles Foden and David Peace.
