Günther Grosser is a director and writer. Born in Lauffen am Neckar in 1955, he studied philosophy and literature in Tübingen. After co-founding the English-language theater company Out to Lunch in 1989, he became Artistic Director of English Theatre Berlin in 1993. Directing work for ETB | IPAC includes Orpheus Descending / Tennessee Williams, Sexual Perversity in Chicago / David Mamet, A Number / Caryl Churchill, The Caretaker / Harold Pinter, An Experiment with an Air Pump / Shelag Stephenson, Talking Heads / Alan Bennett, Lady Lay / Lydia Stryk, Photograph 51 / Anna Ziegler, Isaac´s Eye / Lucas Hnath, NippleJesus / Nick Hornby, Transcendence / Robert Marc Friedman, Ein/Verständnis / Deborah Zoe Laufer, Dead Fred / Günther Grosser & Priscilla Be, The Age of Consent / Peter Morris; for Theater Thikwa: Max und Moritz / Wilhelm Busch. His productions received invitations to festivals in Cork, Munich, Mainz, Kaiserslautern and Stralsund. Grosser has written two plays and regularly contributes to several newspapers and blogs including Berliner Zeitung and berlin-ist.de.
