The Vagina Monologues in Berlin – Celebrating Women’s Sexuality & Strength – on the 20th Anniversary of V-Day
On February 22 and 23 at English Theatre Berlin | International Performing Arts Center, The American Women’s Club of Berlin e.V. will stage benefit performances of playwright and activist Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues, an incisive, humorous and poignant English language production to celebrate the 20th anniversary of V-Day, a global movement to end violence against women and girls.
Directed by Molly Moylan Brown, these shows will feature a multicultural all-female cast, many of whom are known to the Berlin public, such as Cynthia Barcomi, Luisa Weiss and singer Siggy Davis. 100% of the proceeds will go to Ban Ying, e.V. (www.ban-ying.de) one of Berlin’s oldest women’s advocacy projects, which campaigns for the rights of migrant women who have been the victims of violence, exploitation or human trafficking.
Showtime: Thursday, February 22 and Friday, February 23 at 19:00, doors open at 18:00 with music, cocktails, and food before and after the performances.
