Berlin International Youth Theatre

An opportunity to develop acting skills, build self esteem, make theatre in a real theatre, and make new friends!

For fluent English speakers ages 11 to 18

The main focus of these workshops is discovering the magic of theatre. How does it happen? Where does it come from? This process involves stretching and strengthening the basic actors tools which you already possess- your imagination, body and voice.
The first part of the workshop consists of fun relaxing theatre games to free the imagination, make us feel comfortable in the group, and inspire self-confidence. The second part of the session is based on scene building exercises, character analysis, and improvisations which include working with text, (memorization, interpretation, as well as the creating of original text).

Throughout the term we will be working on creating our own play which will be performed in the theatre at the end of the school year. For this reason classes will be closed to new students starting April.

All classes meet on Saturdays and will generally not be held during school holidays.
14-18 years old at 11.00-14.00
11-13 years old at 12.30 -15.30

Maximum Group size: 10

Price: First session for new students is free. (This is to give the student the opportunity to decide if they would like to continue.) After that monthly payments of 44,50 Euros will follow. Additional family members pay 35 Euros.

BIYT´s first theatre production, TALE OF THE REBEL WAVES, was performed at English Theatre Berlin on June 25th and 26th 2010. The kids had a lot of fun and the audience was enthusiastic !
