Managing Director

Bernd Hoffmeister was born in Karlsruhe in 1955. He began freelance theater work in 1985 and founded Theaterwerkstätten Berlin in 1988, an initiative to recycle stage sets and props. In 1990 Hoffmeister converted the workshop’s space to a performance venue where he founded the theater called Friends of Italian Opera, which was later renamed English Theatre Berlin, and became its Managing Director.
