the new show coming up in June:
MODELMONSTERMODEL - The Curse of Narcissus
Thursday, June 6 (Premiere), Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8 | 7pm
Written and Performed by Berlin International Youth Theatre
Look closer if you dare....
A shattering exposé of the twisted world of fashion - inside the mirror. Another world, where vanity's victims go, dazzled by visions of flawless beauty. Where ancient Greek gods are running the whole show - and doing it very badly. Alice in Wonderland would certainly not last long in this place. Is this just another tale of a cursed mirror or could this be the tragic truth? "There is no excellent beauty that hath not some strangeness in the proportion" - you can say that again!
An opportunity to develop acting skills, build self esteem, make theatre in a real theatre, and make new friends!
Taught by experienced, professional American actress and director Priscilla Bergey.
BERLIN INTERNATIONAL YOUTH THEATRE
For fluent English speakers ages 12-18
The main focus of these workshops is discovering the magic of theatre. How does it happen? Where does it come from? This process involves stretching and strengthening the basic actors tools which you already possess - your imagination, body and voice.
The first part of the workshop consists of fun relaxing theatre games to free the imagination, make us feel comfortable in the group, and inspire self-confidence. The second part of the session is based on scene building exercises, character analysis, and improvisations which include working with text, (memorization, interpretation, as well as the creating of original text). There will be a small presentation at the end of the term for family and friends.
You are invited to come and check us out. Classes meets every Saturday and are sometimes held during school holidays as well.
Price: First session for new students is free. This gives the student the opportunity to decide if they would like to continue. After that monthly payments of 45 Euros will follow. Additional family members pay 35 Euros.
